As a Senior Portfolio Manager with TD Wealth Private Investment Counsel I have the privilege to spend time and learn about what's most important to my clients and tailoring a holistic plan to help them and their loved ones reach their goals.
I have been in the financial services industry since 2004, all of which have been with TD. I started my career as a part time teller while attending post-secondary, progressing on to sales and advice roles and eventually in August 2011 I made the switch to TD Wealth. The main reason for the change was because I wanted to have the ability to really get to know my clients and truly look after their financial well-being; I believed moving to TD Wealth Private Investment Counsel would let me do just that. I obtained the CFA charter shortly thereafter, the most difficult and grueling exams I have ever taken. It was worth the effort because I believe having the education, along with experience, is a requirement to providing truly helpful advice.
In my role as a Senior Portfolio Manager I take the time to understand what is important to a client and their family, work with them to create a bespoke solution to help achieve these goals. A risk managed and tailored portfolio is part of the solution but not everything; I work closely with the Wealth Advisory Services team at TD Wealth, a group of specialists with backgrounds ranging from legal, accounting, to estate planning, to help our clients look after all of the other pieces in their financial picture. I believe all the pieces, such as tax planning, retirement planning, will and estate reviews, philanthropic wishes, should work together to ensure the client is well looked after. This then gives my clients the opportunity to do things that things that matters most to them, whether it's travelling, building their business, spending time with family, etc. because they don't need to worry about
I am a born and raised Edmonton. I'm Chinese- Canadian and speak Cantonese fluently. I am married and have two beautiful girls who constantly keep us on our toes. In my spare time I enjoy cooking, reading, and travelling.
